Pedro Pérez Iruela leads EY's Spanish financial services business
EY has appointed a new leader for its financial Services business in Spain: Pedro Pérez Iruela.
Pedro Pérez Iruela brings three decades of experience to the firm, having previously served fellow consultancies Capgemini and Accenture. “Pedro has an impressive career history, having worked with many of the world’s leading financial services firms and will bring a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to this pivotal role,” said Omar Ali, EY’s EMEIA Financial Services Leader.
At EY, Iruela has been tasked with leading and expanding the firm’s 1,000 strong financial Services business, and re-build a part of its offering that recently crossed to Alvarez & Marsal.
Over the past years, EY’s financial services business in Spain has “experienced significant market demand and achieve growth across the region” according to Ali, and Iruela now at the helm, the EMEIA industry leader foresees “continued expansion and an accelerating transformation” across its assurance, tax, advisory and digital service offerings.
Iruela transfers to EY from Capgemini (effective 1 July 2022), where he held the same role of leader of the financial services business in Spain. Prior to this, he spent 24 years at Accenture, where he latterly led the Iberian banking practice.

Iruela, who will become a member of EY’s EMEIA Financial Services leadership team, succeeds Francisco Velasco, who is transitioning into retirement.
In Spain, EY is led by chairman Federico Linares, who has been with the firm since 1997. He previously acted as CEO and Managing Partner of the Tax & Legal division.
