British consultancy Simply Sustainable launches Amsterdam office
British consultancy Simply Sustainable has expanded into Amsterdam, with the Dutch capital aimed to serve as the firm’s launchpad for green work across the European continent.
Since its launch in 2010, Simply Sustainable has grown to a team of around 30 consultants. The firm helps clients with developing sustainability and ESG strategies, implementing new initiatives, rolling out performance improvement, and with obtaining green certifications.
Simply Sustainable works for a number of well-known clients, including low-cost carrier easyJet, coffee retailer Costa en several airports across the United Kingdom.
“We’ve grown strongly since our inception. The opportunity to bring Simply Sustainable to new markets has been an ambition for some time and I’m delighted to be opening our first international base in Amsterdam,” said Nicola Stopps, founder en chief executive officer of Simply Sustainable.
Stopps said that the consulting firm picked Amsterdam for its key hub feature in Western Europe (“Amsterdam is a gateway area to Europe due to its strategic location between Europe’s largest economies”), the proximity to the United Kingdom, and for its credentials of being “one of the most sustainable cities” in the world.
Leading the new office is newly appointed Country Manager Sytze Dijkstra, who has joined the firm externally from Accenture, where he spent nine years focused on sustainability research and thought leadership, and advised multiple companies across sectors on strategies for accelerating the transition to sustainable business practices.
Earlier in his career, Dijkstra held development and research roles at a Dutch energy research house and worked as a consultant at a boutique environmental consultancy.
