ProjectiveGroup promotes Belgian lead Mike Leerdam to partner
ProjectiveGroup has promoted Mike Leerdam – the country leader of its Belgian practice – to partner.
Mike Leerdam has been with ProjectiveGroup since 2015, having previously gained seven years of experience at a financial services focused management consultancy.
During his tenure at the firm, Leerdam has worked on several major transformations at clients in Belgium, and more recently, he has been handed the reins for ProjectiveGroup’s operation in the country. In the role, he oversees the firm’s consulting, project delivery, data, and talent development offerings.
Now a member of the partner team (Projective is part privately-held and part investor-backed), Leerdam will “actually do much of the same.” He elaborated: “Being admitted to the partnership is a fantastic recognition, but in fact, my daily job won’t really change. There are no special meetings or new responsibilities.”
“I spend about two days per week on the Country Lead Belgium role, and three days at the client, where I manage an IT Risk & Compliance programme for a financial market infrastructure company.”
It is this diversity of tasks that initially drew Leerdam to consulting and ProjectiveGroup, he said in an interview roughly three years ago. “Combining client and internal work can be a juggle, but the variety also gives me great energy!”
In parallel with Leerdam’s own career growth, so too has his employer (technically he now is co-owner) seen strong growth. Organic growth in its six key markets as well as three acquisitions has turned ProjectiveGroup into a 650-strong group capable of offering an end-end-end advisory and project delivery offering. The firm also has its own venture capital arm and an ecosystem of fintechs to back and deepen its services to financial institutions.
“ProjectiveGroup now covers all aspects of transformation in the financial services sector. By combining the capabilities of our expert companies [seven in total], we have become an international end-to-end partner for those who want to excel in an ever-changing environment.”
“As a partner, I am more than ever looking forward to working alongside my amazing colleagues and clients to tackle complex challenges and deliver exceptional results,” concluded Leerdam.
