KPMG acquires banking-focused SAP consultancy QuadriO
KPMG has acquired QuadriO, a German IT consultancy that specialises in SAP products and services. The deal sees a team of around 70 cross to the Big Four firm.
Established in 2011, Dresden-based QuadriO helps companies with designing, building and running SAP solutions. The firm focuses mainly on clients in the banking industry, and counts several of Germany’s more well-known banks to its client roster.
As part of the integration into KPMG, QuadriO’s 70-strong team across hubs in Dresden, Berlin and Mannheim will join KPMG’s Advisory business, which houses the firm’s suite of technology consulting and SAP services.
“With KPMG, we have found the right strategic partner to continue growing and remain competitive in the long term. We offer our employees and customers excellent prospects. We look forward to working with our KPMG colleagues,” commented Sascha Mieth, Managing Director at QuadriO.
Sven-Olaf Leitz, a member of KPMG’s Board in Germany and head of the Financial Services practice, said that the bolt-on marks a significant strengthening of the firm’s SAP portfolio.
“With the experienced team from QuadriO on board, we are strengthening our SAP competencies and expanding our range of services, especially in the area of IT implementation and IT operations. As a result, we can offer our customers end-to-end solutions and also implement large SAP transformations from a single source.”
Earlier this year, rival PwC also turned to inorganic means to beef up its SAP capabilities. In April, the firm bought Avoras, which had around 60 employees prior to its snap up.
According to a report from Equiteq, the majority of consultancies in the SAP ecosystem are facing good growth prospects, and as a result, deal activity in the scene is high – driven both by strategic buyers and financial sponsors.
