Global consulting firm Teneo has strengthened its Strategic Communications business in Germany with Philipp Grontzki.

A communications professional with 20 years of experience in corporate communications and financial journalism, Philipp Grontzki focuses on investor relations, C-level positioning, corporate branding, and special campaigns.

Grontzki joins Teneo from DAX-listed Sartorius, where he most recently was head of external communications. In the role, he led the communication of quarterly earnings and several special projects, including the €2.4 billion acquisition of Polyplus.

Before that, Grontzki helped set up the financial media relations subfunction at Siemens Healthineers after the 2018 public offering and played a major role in the communications workstream of the $16 billion takeover of Varian Medical Systems, the largest acquisition in the Siemens’ history to date.

As media spokesman at Osram, Grontzki was involved in the spin-off from Siemens and played a role in the communication of the company’s transformation from a traditional lighting maker to a high-tech company – a change that also included the sale of the general lighting lamps business with roughly 10,000 staff to a Chinese consortium in 2017.

Before switching to corporate communications in 2012, Grontzki worked as a journalist for Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg for almost nine years.

Headquartered in the US, Teneo is a consulting firm with five main lines of business. Alongside strategic communications, the firm also advises clients around financial advisory, management consulting, human capital, and risk management. The German business operates with offices in Berlin and Frankfurt.
