Years after announcing its plans to launch a new campus in Portugal, Metyis has today formally inaugurated its digital centre of excellence in the city of Porto.

The Metyis campus, the construction of which started in 2021, comprises a number of buildings, including an auditorium which includes a 300-person capacity room for events, and a campus spanning 2,400 square meters of modern offices.

Embedded into a green landscape, the campus offers modern and comfortable workstations paired with a scenic environment that promotes wellbeing and outdoor activity. The campus is ultimately expected to create approximately 1,000 new jobs, serving Metyis clients in Portugal and internationally.

Commenting on the launch, Yogen Singh, CEO of Metyis, said: “The Metyis campus will allow us to forge deeper and more meaningful collaboration with our clients. From our campus, we provide solutions for our clients regionally and globally, operate centres of excellence in digital, data and technology, and train our people in these areas.”

“The campus also represents another significant step in our journey to staying true to our mission, which is to be partners for impact for our clients, our people, and society at large.”

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Metyis is a provider of solutions in big data, digital commerce, marketing, design, and management consulting services. The firm has over 1.000 employees working from offices in 15 locations.

Singh said that the investment in Portugal underscores the firm’s commitment to the country, and the local community. Around 200 of its headcount is currently based across its offices in Porto, Lisbon, and Faro, although that number is expected to rise rapidly in the coming period in line with the ramp-up plans for the campus.

Notably, Metyis has already signed a deal to partner with iconic fashion brand Hugo Boss in its campus. Their joint venture – named the Hugo Boss Digital Campus – will grow to a 250-strong team by the end of 2023.

Marco Martins, the Mayor of Gondomar, welcomed Metyis to the region, stating: “The arrival of Metyis in Gondomar represents a big step towards job creation and innovation. This project will generate around 1.000 highly qualified jobs, which is absolutely decisive for retaining the best talents in our city. In this context, we are excited to welcome Hugo Boss as the first high-profile partner on the campus.”
