Tim de Vries and Hugo Grimbel du Bois partner at Oliver Wyman
Oliver Wyman has promoted Tim de Vries and Hugo Grimbel du Bois to partner in its Amsterdam office.
Tim de Vries has kicked off his 10th anniversary at Oliver Wyman in style, having made the step up to the partnership at the start of the year. Initially part of the London and New York team of the global management consultancy, De Vries joined the Amsterdam office a few years ago, where he today is a leader in its Financial Services practice.
Focused on payments, retail banking, and fintech, De Vries has during his decade at the firm worked with a variety of financial services and non-financial services clients, in North America, Europe and beyond.
Launched in 2013, Oliver Wyman’s Dutch office today comprises around 90 consultants and staff. The award-winning firm has nestled itself as one of the leading strategy and management consultancies in the local market, a position the firm similarly holds worldwide.
A more recent recruit, Hugo Grimbel du Bois has been with Oliver Wyman since the start of 2022. A member of the Financial Services practice, he specialises in compliance and financial economic crime (he leads the offering in the Netherlands and is active across Europe).
Grimbel du Bois advises financial institutions on designing and executing complex strategic and operating model initiatives, with a focus on regulatory transformation programs. His work involves the analysis of operating models and frameworks against regulatory expectations and peer practices and supporting institutions how to best achieve their strategic and regulatory objectives.
“I’m thrilled to join Oliver Wyman’s partnership,” he said. “In this role I plan to bring even more energy into helping my clients overcome their compliance and financial economic crime challenges and contribute to keeping the financial sector safe. And because Oliver Wyman is a place with no barriers, I can’t wait to see the breakthrough projects and solutions we develop with our clients.”
Prior to his venture into consulting, Grimbel du Bois worked at Rabobank for five years, and at Big Four firm PwC.
Promotions season
Globally, Oliver Wyman promoted a total of 59 members to partner per the 1st of January 2024, the majority of which are based in Europe and North America.
“Our new 2024 partner class represents one of the most diverse we have ever had, cutting across 24 of our offices around the world to bring our clients new perspectives and approaches,” stated Oliver Wyman global chief executive Nick Studer. “We applaud their promotions and congratulate them on their achievements.”
