PaymentGenes welcomes Kirsten Hoornstra to consulting team
Specialist professional services firm PaymentGenes has expanded its consulting team in Amsterdam with Kirsten Hoornstra.
Appointed lead of the firm’s Merchant Services practice, Kirsten Hoornstra has been tasked with expanding the presence of PaymentGenes in the payments providers space, with a focus on the retail (e-commerce and omnichannel) and mobility segments.
“We are delighted to welcome Kirsten to our team,” said Ward Hagenaar, Head of Consulting at PaymentGenes. “Her arrival positions us for further growth in the merchant services landscape, a rapidly growing market from which we expect a lot in the coming years.”
With a background in consulting, Hoornstra brings experience as a project and delivery manager in different industries, including consumer goods, travel, automotive, and financial services. She kicked off her career at Accenture, where she spent two years working on large business-technology transformations at Airbus and Air France-KLM, among others.
Hoornstra then worked at digital agencies, where she gained experience with digital strategy and execution, before she transitioned into independent consulting. It was then – in between one of her projects – when she met PaymentGenes. Not much later, Hoornstra signed up as an associated consultant, spending the last two years working together with the firm on several payments-focused engagements.
“Having worked with Kirsten on projects for Mercedes, INGKA, NBBI, iDEAL and Enfuce, we are convinced that she will be a great addition to our team”, said Hagenaar.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, with a further office across the Atlantic, PaymentGenes supports clients in the payments landscape with consulting, training, and executive search services. The consulting arm advises on strategic matters, provides counsel around vendor selections, tenders and partnerships, as well as provides support to project execution.
