FTI Consulting partners with Dutch consultancy Vijverberg
FTI Consulting has signed a strategic alliance with Vijverberg, an independent project management and dispute resolution firm for construction projects based in the Netherlands.
As part of the agreement, the global consultancy firm and Dutch boutique will work together in the provision of dispute resolution services to clients in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The agreement will see FTI Consulting team up with Vijverberg for disputes its international clients face in the Benelux market. Vice versa, Vijverberg will be able to tap FTI Consulting’s teams all over the world for its local clients facing cross-border disputes.
“Our strategic alliance with Vijverberg will increase our presence in Mainland Europe and complement our teams in Germany, France, Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom,” said Alastair Farr, a leader at FTI Consulting.
The focus of the agreement is on the construction and infrastructure sectors – the top breeding grounds for project-based disputes. In addition, Vijverberg’s project management expertise will expand FTI Consulting’s regional expertise in the offshore, shipbuilding, data centre, infrastructure, light rail, power plant, and real estate sectors.
Founded over 30 years ago, Vijverberg today has a team of around 30 staff. The firm has contributed to the prevention and resolution of construction disputes through delay analyses, cost and economic damages assessments, and expert witness reports.
Headquartered in the United States, FTI Consulting is with over 6,400 staff one of the globe’s larger management consulting firms. The firm is generally recognised as one of the leading players in dispute resolution and claims advisory services.
Commenting on the partnership, Jouke van der Schors, Managing Director at Vijverberg, said: “We can now offer our clients in Benelux access to a wider range of industry-specific experts. And FTI Consulting’s extensive network worldwide enables us to better serve our clients locally on international projects.”
Earlier this year, FTI Consulting boosted its construction advisory and forensic practice with the acquisition of US-based The Rhodes Group (40 staff).
