Magnus Energy expands partner team with Martin van den Heuvel
Magnus Energy has expanded its partner team with Martin van den Heuvel, who becomes the firm’s 4th member of the management team.
Joining from Capgemini Invent, Martin van den Heuvel is a highly experienced professional in the energy and utilities sector. Earlier in his career, he spent close to a decade at Siemens with subsidiaries Siemens Advanta and Omnetric, and a dozen years at Accenture.
In his new role at Magnus Energy, Van den Heuvel will help expand the business and technology consulting practice – one of the firm’s four lines of business alongside complex project management, energy modelling, and regulatory.
“Magnus Energy already has an excellent team of consultants experienced in designing and implementing business and technological changes; all specialised in the energy and utilities sector. I look forward to utilising my expertise to help further build out the offering.”
One of the key topics Van den Heuvel will focus on is the energy transition. His track record in the domain includes working on several nationally and internationally important initiatives that align to energy transition goals, including projects on smart grids / meters, decarbonization of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, enterprise asset management, control room of the future, digitalisation, and renewable energy.
“The energy transition introduces increased volatility, altering the dynamics of the transmissions and distribution landscape, as well as the roles of other market parties. Grid operators will need to leverage new data-driven technologies to balance the grids, necessitating a transition to real-time monitoring and control systems. This transformation is poised to be a substantial shift at the core of our energy system,” said Van den Heuvel.
“This transition is highly complex, requiring collaboration among various players, from traditional parties in the system to new providers, governments, regulators, and even consumers. I am eager to contribute to solving this intricate puzzle and realise the necessary changes together with our clients.”
In its work with energy utility companies, Magnus Energy helps with setting up and rolling out the blueprint for future success while meeting targets for reliability and sustainability. Meanwhile, the consulting firm also works for other players in the landscape such as energy producers, suppliers, and regulators.
Welcoming the new partner to the firm, Magnus Energy managing partner Alexander van der Mark said: “I'm thrilled to welcome Martin. His business and technology experience is highly valuable for us and our clients. Martin also introduces a fresh perspective and personality to the team, which is beneficial for our expanding workforce.”
