Teneo appoints Philippe Maze-Sencier as leader of French business

Teneo has appointed Philippe Maze-Sencier as the new leader of its business in France.

Coming with a background in strategic communications and public affairs, Philippe Maze-Sencier will lead the strategic direction of the French business and oversee all office matters including growth, client management, and operations.

Teneo is a global consulting firm with more than 1,500 employees located in offices around the world, specialising in management consulting, financial advisory, restructuring, and strategic communications. The firm launched its French business three years ago.

Maze-Sencier has almost 30 years of experience in strategic communications in Europe, Africa, India and North America. Prior to Teneo, he was global chair of public affairs at Hill & Knowlton where he worked with teams across offices in Europe, North America and Asia, as well as directly serving clients in those geographies and launching the firm’s geopolitical advisory offer.

Before that, Maze-Sencier was a Managing Director with McLarty Associates in Washington, DC and Brussels, focused on EU and transatlantic affairs. He started his career in communications and public affairs advisory at APCO, having run their Paris and Brussels operations as a managing director.

Maze-Sencier is an alumnus of the University of Cambridge (UK), the University of Bonn (Germany), Georgetown University (USA), and the University of Buckingham (UK) and a former Fellow of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. He is a reserve officer in the French army and a graduate of the Staff Military School in Paris.

Olivier Jay, who launched Teneo’s business in France and led the team for the past three years, remains with the consultancy and will shift to a more client-facing role. “I am pleased to remain a trusted consultant to existing and new clients and to contribute to the success of our French offer under Philippe’s experienced leadership.”

The 6-strong French management team of Teneo now comprises: Philippe Maze-Sencier, Aurélie Motta-Rivey, Mathilde Oliveau, Olivier Jay, Stéphane Dupuis and Guillaume Gauvillé.
