Highberg expands HR capabilities with acquisition of BexerHamstra
Western European consulting firm Highberg has expanded its presence in its home market with the acquisition of BexerHamstra, adding a team of around 40 staff to its headcount.
Utrecht-based BexerHamstra is a consulting firm specializing in issues related to compensation, pensions, and organizational design. The firm, formed four years ago through the merger of two boutiques, has over the years won several awards for its fast growth, and was last year named among the leading HR consulting firms in the Dutch market.
Now part of Highberg, BexerHamstra becomes part of a group with over 450 employees across offices in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and India.
Han Driessen, the CEO of Highberg, said the move builds on the group’s aim to widen its capabilities. “The addition of BexerHamstra strengthens our position in the field of human resources and organizational transformations.”
Formed at the start of 2024, following the merger of seven boutiques and the subsequent unification of brands, Highberg already had a practice focused on human resources. The arrival of BexerHamstra significantly expands this portfolio, and adds new clients and offerings to the mix.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by both parties. Highberg is backed by a private equity group.
Rogier Kerkhof, managing consultant and co-founder of BexerHamstra, commented: “It has long been our wish to offer our clients more than we already did. Think of expanded services in HR analytics, strategic workforce planning, and leadership development. By joining Highberg, we can achieve this.”
“At the same time, this step allows us to undertake more international projects. This enables us to grow further and provide even more opportunities for our employees. Additionally, we will continue to build on our strengths: short lines of communication, a personal and pragmatic approach, extensive expertise, and a strong focus on results.”
