Accenture acquires German healthcare consultancy firm consus.health

In its latest European deal this year, Accenture has acquired consus.health, a German healthcare management consultancy with around 140 staff.

Founded in 2012, consus.health has since its inception grown into one of Germany’s leading management consultancies in the healthcare sector, serving more than 600 healthcare providers and hospitals. With deep industry know-how, consus.health advises clients on strategy, financial management, cost effectiveness, operational performance, procurement, asset management, infrastructure, logistics and energy efficiency.

“The acquisition of consus.health is a significant milestone in our strategy to serve clients end-to-end in an expanding healthcare market,” said Katharina Michaelis, a leader at Accenture in Germany. “consus.health’s expertise in revenue and cost management, process optimization, and hospital management will complement our existing offerings and enable us to provide our clients with even more comprehensive solutions.”

Following closing of the deal, consus.health will become part of Accenture’s Strategy & Consulting division and Healthcare industry vertical.

The acquisition of consus.health is the latest in a series of investments that Accenture has made in the healthcare space. Previous deals include that of Intellera Consulting, ConcentricLife and Nautilus Consulting.

In related Germany-based deals, Accenture in May bought data consulting firm Parsionate (130 professionals) and late last year absorbed pricing consultancy Vocatus (50 consultants).
