BCG promotes Julien Lardet-Maurin and René Willemars in Dutch office

Boston Consulting Group has promoted Julien Lardet-Maurin and René Willemars to Managing Director and Partner in its Amsterdam office.

Both Partners have been with the global strategy consulting firm for over a decade, and now make the step up to Managing Director and Partner level (the equivalent of equity partner).

Julien Lardet-Maurin is a Frenchman who initially started his career at Monitor Deloitte in France. After completing his MBA in the US in 2016, he joined Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in its Atlanta office. He relocated to the Amsterdam office two years ago.

A member of the Aviation practice, Lardet-Maurin has advised multiple airlines in Europe and North America on topics such as strategy development, restructuring, cost transformation, post-Covid-19 recovery, airline operations, sustainability, and digitization. He has delivered several projects for KLM, and is a member of the leadership team for the longstanding KLM-BCG partnership for digital airline operations.

René Willemars has meanwhile been with Boston Consulting Group for over a decade, joining the consulting firm following a traineeship at Rabobank. He is a member of the Energy and Climate businesses, focusing on renewables, Power-to-X models (a technology that converts surplus electricity to other use cases), carbon credits, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).

He works with network companies, governments, and regulators to design the energy system of the future, and works with major industry and transport groups on decarbonizing their energy system. Willemars also helps companies with the transition to hydrogen and its derivatives.
