BrazilCroonwolter&dros adopts new SAP S/4HANA system with support from Emixa
Croonwolter&dros, a Netherlands-based technical installation company, has successfully adopted SAP S/4HANA as its core ERP system. The 14-month project was supported by Emixa.
Headquartered in Rotterdam, Croonwolter&dros supports projects in the built environment with electrical and mechanical engineering, automation and information solutions. The 140-year-old company has around 3.000 staff and generated revenues of around €550 million in its latest financial year.
As part of its digital transformation roadmap, Croonwolter&dros launched a major IT upgrade program, aimed at replacing its ageing ERP system with a modern and cloud-based solution. The company picked SAP S/4HANA as its preferred solution.
“Our outdated ERP package no longer met our future requirements, was nearing end-of-life, and exposed the company to potential operational risks,” explained Piet Jan Heijboer, Chairman at Croonwolter&dros. “It was time for a new ERP system, and we chose Emixaas our implementation partner.”
The implementation
Emixa worked within a tight timeline to deliver a fully integrated SAP S/4HANA solution that aligns the company’s processes with industry standards, supporting over 3,000 users across multiple business units. The project followed a structured, multi-phase approach incorporating SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, SAP BTP and CPI, Azure Integration Platform, MS PowerBI, ETM Next, and SAP FSM.
By employing SAP’s best practices and minimizing customizations, the project was delivered on schedule and within budget, meeting the planning of Croonwolter&dros. The “simultaneous go-live” deployment strategy ensured a smooth organization-wide transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
According to a release from Croonwolter&dros, the new ERP system has since its go-live “already delivered significant value”, including the standardization of processes and the enhancement of inter-departmental collaboration. This has lifted efficiency and effectiveness within the business.
The system also has enabled the further transition to data-driven decision-making through improved visibility and advanced reporting capabilities, while the added flexibility and scalability in operations supports Croonwolter&dros’s ongoing growth ambitions and makes the company more responsive to evolving business needs.
