Clearwater expands presence into France with addition of Vulcain

European corporate finance house Clearwater has cemented its presence in the French market with the addition of Vulcain to its network.
France becomes the 12th market in Europe for the UK-headquartered group, with the addition of Vulcain’s 30-person team (including 7 partners) lifting Clearwater’s headcount to over 450 across 20+ offices.
“We are delighted to join forces with Vulcain. Their strong reputation in the French market and expertise in mid-cap transactions align perfectly with our vision and values. This collaboration strengthens our presence in France and create new opportunities to our worldwide clients,” said Phil Burns, Chairman and Co-Founder of Clearwater.
Based in Paris, Vulcain is a mid-market corporate finance advisor, providing services in mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and financial restructuring. Since its inception in 2016, Vulcain has completed over 150 mid-market transactions in sectors such as technology, business services, manufacturing, aerospace and defense, and consumer goods.
“Joining Clearwater marks a decisive step in our development. Our success is built on a strong entrepreneurial DNA and a commitment to excellence, values that we share with Clearwater. This collaboration opens up new opportunities and allows us to accelerate our development by providing our clients with direct access to a major international platform,” noted Thierry Falque-Pierrotin, CEO of Vulcain.
“Thanks to this alliance, Vulcain will enhance its ability to execute cross-border transactions, leveraging Clearwater's global reach to unlock new market opportunities for its clients,” Falque-Pierrotin added, noting that around 30% of the firm’s deals have a cross-border element.
Countries where Clearwater now has a presence include: Denmark, Portugal, Netherlands, Finland, Spain, France, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom. To serve the important US market, Clearwater partners with American counterpart KeyBanc Capital Markets.
