Bain & Company appoints Christina Ellringmann as next Germany and Austria boss

Global strategy consulting firm Bain & Company has appointed Christina Ellringmann as its next Managing Partner for Germany and Austria. She succeeds longtime leader Walter Sinn.
After 11 years in the role of Managing Partner, Walter Sinn will on November 1, 2025 pass on the torch to Christina Ellringmann, who has been with Bain & Company since 2002.
Promoted to partner in 2012, Ellringmann currently leads the firm’s Insurance practice group in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH) – a particularly important growth area for Bain & Company. She also sits on the company’s Compensation & Promotion Committee, which oversees the development of the partner team on a global level.
In her client work, Ellringmann advises clients on business strategy, organization, large-scale transformations, cost effectiveness, and performance improvement. She also has extensive expertise in the areas of sales and customer strategy.
“Christina is an excellent choice to take on this role,” said Sinn. “She combines strategic thinking with strong leadership skills and innovative strength – ideal prerequisites to further drive Bain & Company’s successful development in Germany and Austria.”
Under Sinn’s leadership, Bain & Company’s revenue and headcount have more than tripled in the DACH region, driven by organic growth, the expansion in its services portfolio and the opening of new offices (Berlin and Vienna). “Bain & Company continues to gain market share in the DACH region, and under Christina’s leadership, we are excellently positioned to continue on this path,” said Sinn.
“I’m very much looking forward to this new role,” reflected Ellringmann. “Our goal is to continue to create measurable added value for our clients with comprehensive industry expertise, excellent execution capabilities, and strategic depth. The focus is always on the result.”
As part of the handover, Sinn will transition to the role of Chairman for the Germany and Austria business. Meanwhile, the Swiss business within the DACH division is led by Massimo Lusardi.
