Ex-McKinsey partner Angelika Reich joins Spencer Stuart in Vienna

Angelika Reich, a former McKinsey partner, has joined Spencer Stuart as a leader in its Leadership Advisory Services practice in the DACH region.

In her new role, Reich advises and supports clients in the financial services, technology, and telecommunications sectors on areas such as human capital, talent strategy, leadership assessment, organisational design, culture transformation, and team effectiveness. She also advises CxOs on the future of work, as well as the alignment of people and leadership with corporate strategy and organisational structures.

Reich studied psychology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she also earned her doctorate in human biology.

She went on to build a career as an entrepreneur, consultant, and academic. Before joining Spencer Stuart, she was Co-Founder and Managing Director of Avancell Medical, a healthcare start-up in the field of regenerative medicine. Prior to that, she spent around 14 years with McKinsey & Company, most recently as a Partner in the People & Organisational Performance practice.

In that role, she led people transformation projects across Vienna, Zurich, and Brussels, with a focus on digital adoption, agile organisational models, and change leadership. She also headed the EMEA Talent Practice and established a strong reputation as a thought leader in the areas of future skills and skills-based transformation. Her clients included leading global companies in the technology and financial services sectors.

Reich began her professional career as a research associate in psychology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she conducted experimental studies on cognitive load and decision-making processes in human–machine environments, among other topics.
