Magnus Pantzar joins Alvarez & Marsal to build Swedish tax practice
Magnus Pantzar has joined Alvarez & Marsal as a Managing Director in its Swedish business, where he will lead the setup and growth of its newly established Tax practice.
The new practice will provide expertise in the areas of transaction tax services, tax structuring, private capital advisory, management incentives and value creation, exit and IPO readiness and international tax. The wing will pitch its services to multinationals, high-growth businesses, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies.

The move continues a busy period of expansion for Alvarez & Marsal’s tax group, which has recently entered several new markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Swedish ambition
The launch builds on Alvarez & Marsal’s presence in Sweden, where the firm has built a longstanding track record in operational and financial restructuring, as well as transactions and private equity advisory.
Tax practice leader has more than 25 years of experience advising on complex cross-border matters across the full lifecycle of private equity transactions. He will join Alvarez & Marsal on the 1st August from EQT, where he spent over a decade as Global Head of Tax & Structuring, leading the firm’s international tax strategy, including advising on fund and transaction structuring as well as compliance frameworks.
He previously served as a Partner at EY in Stockholm, where he led the Private Equity Transaction Tax team across the Nordics. Before that, he worked at Big Four firm PwC in Stockholm and London.
