Sia Partners Belgium supports student-run advisory 180 Degrees Consulting

The Belgian arm of Sia Partners has agreed a partnership with 180 Degrees Consulting, a Brussels-based consulting firm run by students. 

Sia Partners established its country organisation in Belgium in 2006, in the same year it also entered the Italian consultancy industry with offices in Rome and Milan. The firm’s Brussels office, which is located in a historical building between Louise Avenue and Brussels Midi Station, works for multinationals, large Belgian companies (over half of BEL 20 companies), as well as Belgian mid-sized companies. The focus of the consulting firm’s services is on clients in the financial services, energy and industrial sectors.

In a bid to deepen its ties with ambitious students – Sia Partners Belgium is growing, elevating its need for the recruitment of talent – the consultancy has signed a partnership agreement with 180 Degrees Consulting. The student-run consulting firm has operations in 30+ countries and branches at 80+ leading universities, making it the world’s largest volunteer consultancy. 180 Degrees Consulting works primarily for non-profits and social enterprises. As part of the partnership, Sia Partners will mentor and coach students throughout their consulting engagements.

Sia Partners joins a growing roster of management consulting firms that have committed their support to 180 Degrees Consulting. Other partners in Belgium include Nous Group, a consultancy that works with clients throughout Australia, Europe and Asia, and TrustLaw, the global pro bono legal programme of Thomson Reuters Foundation. 

Meanwhile, Sia Partners Belgium recently achieved a milestone in its corporate social responsibility endeavours. Born from the desire to enhance its sustainability footprint, and aligned with global objectives, the consultancy created a so-called Carbon Team to reduce the firm’s carbon footprint. One of the latest initiatives rolled out was banning the use of plastic bottles (consumption of around 2,000 per year) and aluminum coffee capsules (consumption of around 8,000 per year). The achievement comes on top of the 400kg CO2/consultant emissions reduction the Brussels office realised at the start of its current financial year.

North of Belgium, Sia Partners Netherlands was lauded in June for the fast growth it has booked in the country in the past twelve months.
