Sofigate has welcomed three new juniors to its ranks in Copenhagen. Sophia Skafte, Abdullah Almiqasbi and Iswariya Sivalingam have all joined the traineeship programme of the business technology consultancy.

Founded in 2003 in Finland, Sofigate today is a European consultancy with offices in the Nordics (Finland, Sweden, Denmark) and the United Kingdom. The company has seen rapid growth in recent years, on the back of organic growth as well as a series of acquisitions, including that of Prestantia, Daymark, 3gamma, Headstart and Csolutor, taking Sofigate’s current headcount to over 520 employees.

In Denmark, where Sofigate is based in Copenhagen and led by Managing Director Rolf Greisen, the consulting firm has of the 1st of September seen three juniors join its team. “My motivation for joining Sofigate was not only driven by their holistic integration of business consulting and information technology expertise but I was also enticed by their open-source approach to doing business and sharing of best practices,” said Sophia Skafte, one of the new juniors.

Abdullah Almiqasbi, who completed his tertiary education in International Business and Public Policy, was particularly drawn by Sofigate’s culture. “Throughout the selection process, I have been consistently impressed by Sofigate’s culture and values.” The trainee describes Sofigate as a company that “uniquely utilises best practices in the IT world to solve problems, optimise processes for businesses and transform societies as a whole.”

Remarking on his rationale behind joining the Nordic-origin consultancy, Iswariya Sivalingam said, “During my studies I have focused on and been fascinated by how digital transformations could be enabled by business technology. Being one of the few companies offering both consulting competencies and business technology solutions, Sofigate was the absolute best choice for kick-starting my professional career.”

All three junior consultants have joined Sofigate’s graduate programme in Denmark, having fended off fierce competition with the consultancy receiving a record number of applications for the September 2018 intake. During the programme, which first launched last year, they will work as a consultant on a range of different projects across several industries. In parallel to gaining client experience, the Graduate Programme gives them the tools and encouragement to grow both professionally and personally. To support them in their progression, all of Sofigate’s junior are teamed with a dedicated mentor, who serves as a coach and provides continuous feedback and structured mentoring.

Upon completion of the Graduate Programme, Skafte, Almiqasbi and Sivalingam will all transition to the role of Consultant in one of Sofigate’s business areas.

“The extensive investments and resources put into the graduate programme assures we receive the best training and tools to continuously develop ourselves. Combined with the flat organisational structure and challenging projects portfolio, we are provided the opportunity for a fast-tracked career,” concluded Skafte.
