Crowe Horwath expands portfolio in Italy with lauch of tax consultancy
International professional services firm Crowe Horwath has expanded its portfolio in Italy with the launch of a new member firm specialised in tax consultancy. Crowe Valente is the result of an alliance between two local players – Valente Associati GEB Partners and Boscolo & Partners – with Crowe Horwath International.
With offices in Milan, Rome and Turin, Crowe Horwath Italia, founded in 1987, is Crowe Horwath International’s Italian member firm. The company supports clients with audit, assurance, risk consulting, financial advisory, forensic accounting and digital services.
With the aim of expanding its portfolio into tax consultancy, Crowe Horwath International has launched a new joint venture together with two Italian players. Valente Associati GEB Partners, based in Milan, is a company specialised in international tax. The firm is led by founder Piergiorgio Valente, a Certified Tax Advisor and Auditor under Italian Law, and a well-known professional in the European tax scene. Valente is, among others, President of the Fiscal Committee of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE), Chairman of the International Tax Committee of the International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI), and Extended Bureau Member of the Taxation and Fiscal Policy Committee of the BIAC (Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD).
The firm’s 30+ partners and professionals support clients with tax advisory (tax and financial planning, corporate structuring, tax governance, contract law), consultancy services (restructuring, transfer pricing, risk management, corporate finance) and litigation (pre-litigation, dispute resolution, legal opinions, criminal tax enquiries).
The second local player, Boscolo & Partners, is an accounting firm based in Trieste that operates mainly in the North East of Italy. Established in 1983, the firm today has twelve partners – all members of the national register of Chartered Accountants. Boscolo & Partners works for both large and medium-sized enterprises as well as multinational conglomerates.
The three businesses have joined to form Crowe Valente, a specialist firm under the Crowe Horwath umbrella that will focus on tax matters, ranging the full spectrum of services from advisory and legal to risk and execution. “The combined strengths and accolades of the Valente, Boscolo and Crowe brands are expected to inject new vitality, allowing to keep our spearheading position as a reference point to the Italian market and worldwide, and expand our international reach and service lines,” stated the three co-founders in a joint press release.
Meanwhile, last month in Italy, EY bundled the capabilities of three of its arms – Brand Group, NeriWolff and Applix – to launch EY-BrandGroup. The new division aims at taking on the country’s leading advertising and communication agencies.
