Strategy& promotes Roderik van Houtert to Director
The strategy consulting arm of PwC, Strategy&, has promoted Amsterdam-based Roderik van Houtert to Director.
In his new role, Roderik van Houtert will become part of Strategy&’s senior team in the Netherlands. He currently co-leads the firm’s financial services practice in the country, overseeing a team of consultants working predominantly with leading insurers and banks domestically and internationally.
Van Houtert works mainly with insurers and banks facilitating large scale strategic transformations with particular focus on building operating models and the required competencies. He has led and contributed to a number of large-scale strategic transformations in the industry, serving clients in the Netherlands and globally including in the United States and the United Kingdom. He also has deep experience in business strategy, pricing, customer experience, and emerging topics (e.g. ecosystems).
The newly appointed Director specialises in Strategy& so-called ‘Fit for Growth’ offering – helping clients design their resilient future, identify the required capabilities, build the target operating model, and finally, with facilitating the change. For one client, a global reinsurance and risk management firm, Van Houtert was part of a team that helped realise $600+ million run rate saving globally, while at a leading US investment bank, a similar exercise helped the client cost-out around $300+ million from annual operations.
Van Houtert brings an international profile to his new role, having previously studied and worked in the US. After starting his career at PwC in the Netherlands, Van Houtert relocated to the US to serve the firm’s New York practice, later on transitioning into Strategy& after PwC's acquisition of Booz & Company. He returned to the Netherlands early 2018.
In the Netherlands, Strategy& is run by a team of six Partners, including recently promoted Partner Jeroen Crijns. The Dutch firm is led by Managing Partner Sander Visser.
