Pedro Pinto Coelho joins Kroll’s Duff & Phelps in Portugal
Pedro Pinto Coelho, the former CEO of BNI Europe, has left the Portuguese bank to join Kroll subsidiary Duff & Phelps as a senior advisor.
Lisbon-based Pedro Pinto Coelho previously led BNI Europa for over five years, departing the role last month to take on a new challenge, he said on social networking site LinkedIn. Founded in 2014, and owned by Angolan BNI, BNI Europa has been for sale since April last year after Chinese group KWG pulled out from deal talks due to the pandemic crisis.
Appointed a senior advisor, Coelho will focus on providing financial services expertise to Kroll’s clients across Southern Europe, mainly in Portugal, and Africa. “It is a great pleasure to join the Kroll team. I believe the breath of services Kroll provides and the experience of its practitioners gives the firm an edge to help clients deal with a variety of complex challenges in these difficult times,” he said in a statement.
The executive brings nearly three decades of financial services experience to the consulting firm, gained across roles at investment banking, private equity, commercial banking, digital banking, alternative lending and wealth management institutions.
Some of the senior roles he held include: President of Azure Wealth in Switzerland, President at Angola Standard Bank, Global Head of Financial Advisory for Brazil and Portugal at Banif, and Head of Investment Banking for Citigroup in Portugal. His track record makes him a regular speaker at financial conferences in Portugal and beyond.
Javier Zoido, Head of Valuation Advisory in Spain and Portugal commented, “We are very excited to have Pedro onboard. His extensive experience in the financial services sector will add significant value to our clients.”
Kroll is together with subsidiary Duff & Phelps one of the world’s largest consulting firms with nearly 5,000 consultants. The US-headquartered group specialises in corporate finance, restructuring, valuations, investigations, cyber security, risk management and regulatory compliance. In Iberia, Kroll has offices in Madrid, Bilbao, Barcelona and Lisbon.
Alongside his role at Kroll, Coelho is the Chairman of the board of the Portuguese Fintech and Insurtech Association. He is also a member of the European Pensions and Asset Release Group, a board member of Lendity and Alterest, and a global advisor for Antler and Guidepoint.
