RSM acquires FSS Revisjon, adds 20 professionals to team in Norway
The Scandinavian business of international accounting and consulting firm RSM has boosted its position in the region with the acquisition of FSS Revisjon. The addition adds over twenty professionals to the firm’s Norwegian ranks.
FSS Revisjon is a Norway-based professional services firm specialised in audit and financial consultancy services. The firm, which generated a revenue of around €3.6 million in the latest disclosed financial year, employs a team of six partners and around fifteen professionals. FSS Revisjon is based in Sandnes and serves clients in Stavanger and the wider Rogaland area, with a focus on serving small and medium-sized businesses.
“We have watched FSS Revisjon for a long time, and we first contacted them several years ago. In other words, this deal has been carefully crafted. Our strategy is to be present in important business centers, and when we can strengthen our business with people who share our ambitions and values, we take the opportunity,” said Hans Ragnar Berg, General Manager of RSM Norge, the trading name of RSM in Norway.
The acquisition adds a team of 21 professionals to RSM Norge, which sees its base grow to 190 professionals following the integration process – at the end of last year the firm employed around 170 in offices in Oslo, Hordaland and Agder. The combined turnover of the two firms is projected to be in the order of €31 million.
The acquisition further boosts RSM Norge’s presence in the SME segment and in the Rogaland region, which is named an “an exciting place to do business” by Hans Ragnar Berg. FSS Revisjon will initially change its name to RSM Rogaland and will be profiled as part of RSM, while at some later stage, the firm will be fully integrated into RSM Norge.
For FSS Revisjon, the move bolsters its capacity to provide its services to a broader client portfolio, as well as provides it with more financial muscle to remain competitive in the face of increased technological expectations through access to RSM Norge and the firm’s wider global network. Globally, RSM, founded in 1946, has 41,000 employees who combined generate $5 billion in revenues.
Commenting on move, Ivar Sørensen said, "At FSS Revisjon we are proud of our history and where we stand today. At the same time, we acknowledge that we must have the ability to further develop to ensure that we also deliver on the top level. RSM shares ambitions and values, we are certain that this is a good decision for our business.”
RSM’s expansion comes two months after it also expanded its footprint in Bulgaria with the addition of new member firm Balance-M. Meanwhile in Norway, Henning Karlsrud, a former consultant of A.T. Kearney and The Boston Consulting Group recently joined Norway's Ice Group as Chief Financial Officer.
