Deloitte Digital has expanded its Acne subsidiary into the Netherlands, marking the firm’s ninth operation across Europe.

Acne has been in business since 1996, when it launched in Stockholm, Sweden. The creative agency operated independently for around two decades, building a client base that includes majors such as IKEA, Spotify and H&M.

In August 2017 the Swedes were snapped up by Deloitte Digital, and since then, the firm has been on a pan-European expansion campaign. Offices were launched in London, Berlin, Hamburg, Dublin, Lisbon, Milan and Rome, with Amsterdam the latest city to join the firm’s footprint.

Acne is a creative agency that specialises in the ideation, design and development of brands and products. The firm employs a mix of creative strategists, creatives, producers, writers, filmmakers and designers.

Coupled with Deloitte Consulting’s management consultants, and Deloitte Digital’s technology capabilities (including the acquired agency Pervorm), the Big Four firm can provide an “end-to-end offering for creative transformations,” said Kasia Blicharz, a partner at Deloitte Digital and formerly the lead of Accenture Interactive in the Netherlands.

“We help Chief Marketing Officers with an integrated brand, advertising en content service that combine emotion with ratio to help them bring their brand, products and campaigns to life,” she said.

In the Netherlands, Acne will operate from Deloitte’s ‘The Garage’ office in Amsterdam. The launching team is led by Joey Duis (Creative Strategy Director), Matthé Stet (Design Director), Olaf van der Geld (Creative Director) and Robert Hagendoorn (Creative Director).

Creative Strategy Director Joey Duis said: “Brands must continuously innovate to remain relevant. There is therefore a growing need for creativity within broader transformation objectives. By combining the expertise of Acne and Deloitte, we help brands not only to develop their purpose and communicate impactfully, but also to really live up to these.”
