Capgemini Invent expands with Cambridge Consultants and Frog
Capgemini Invent has broken through the barrier of 10,000 employees and diversified its portfolio, following the addition of Cambridge Consultants and Frog to its ranks.
Both newly joined subsidiaries were already part of Capgemini, having joined the group following the €3.6 billion acquisition of Altran two years ago. The units now cross over to Capgemini Invent, which is Capgemini’s management consulting and innovation, design, and transformation powerhouse.
Founded over 60 years ago, Cambridge Consultants specialises in tech-driven innovation. Notable work the firm has worked on include developing a technology that enables Covid-19 home tests, working on the world’s largest commercial airborne antenna for 5G, and helping a European energy company with the development of more efficient smart gas maters. The firm has around 900 staff across offices in the US, UK, Japan and Singapore.
US-headquartered Frog has grown into one of the largest design and innovation consultancies in the world, with around 1,100 employees working from 35 studios worldwide including 16 in Europe. The company helps its clients design and build experiences, products and businesses, and works for the likes of Unicef, Pfizer, British Telecom, Audi and General Electric. Frog became part of Altran when it acquired Aricent in 2018.
The additions inject a range of new offerings into Capgemini Invent, in particular in the creative, technology and product development domains, enhancing the firm’s positioning as an end-to-end partner for transformation. “The most exciting opportunities for transformation happen at the intersection of the C-suite’ agenda,” said Cyril Garcia, CEO of Capgemini Invent.
“Our augmented mix of capabilities position Capgemini Invent as the number one partner to shape clients’ sustainable business growth.”
With a team of 10,000 strategists, consultants, data scientists, product and experience designers, brand experts and technologists, Capgemini Invent is one of the globe’s largest consulting firms. The firm was already among the top 30 players in size, and now leapfrogs several of its rivals thanks to the two internal bolt-ons.
