Global TMT consultancy Analysys Mason has bolstered its team in Italy with Franco Ferri, who has been appointed a Principal.

Franco Ferri brings over 25 years of experience in management consulting and industry to the firm, with a focus on the telecommunications sector.

A seasoned transformation director and consultant, Ferri most recently led a portfolio of transformation projects at Wind Tre, a mobile operator in Italy, aimed at ensuring continuous improvement against the backdrop of a major post-merger integration program.

Previously, Ferri worked as a transformation and project leader at Veon, which in 2018 sold off its 50% stake in Wind Tre for €2.45 billion to Hong Kong-based conglomerate CK Hutchison. Among the projects he led was an operational performance improvement engagement in Russia and Ukraine, and a company-wide digitisation initiative.

Earlier in his career, Ferri served H3G and Ericsson for around a decade. Highlights of his roles include helping H3G launch broadcast mobile TV and helping the Italian group build partnerships for content distribution with the likes of Sky, Mediaset, UEFA, FIFA, BMG and Sony Music. At Ericsson, Ferri worked in the marketing wing.

In between, he led two local players in the telecom space, and served German-origin transactions consultancy goetzpartners.

Now at Analysys Mason, one of Europe’s leading consultancies in the telecom space, Ferri will focus on strategy and due diligence work (commercial and technical) for clients, as well as support them with infrastructure and operations transformation and operational excellence.

Analysys Mason has been active in Italy since 1994, and in 2001, the consultancy established a permanent presence with an office in Milan.

“This has allowed us to develop long-term relationships with all of the major players in the Italian TMT space, including TIM (previously Telecom Italia), Open Fiber (previously Metroweb), Wind Tre and H3G, and Sky, as well as some industry stakeholders and investors such as F2i,” said Joan Obradors, Southern Europe leader at Analysys Mason.
