Arcadis acquires German engineering consultancy Giftge Consult
Dutch professional services group Arcadis has acquired Giftge Consult, an energy transition focused consultancy based in Germany.
The deal sees a team of around 60 consultants and staff join Arcadis, bolstering the firm’s team in Germany – an important growth market for the Amsterdam-based engineering and advisory group.
In operation for over 40 years, Giftge Consult has delivered over 4,500 projects since its inception, with a focus on clients in the transport infrastructure and energy & utilities sectors.
Arcadis also expects to leverage Giftge Consult’s expertise across its European network, strengthening its position in the “attractive and high growth energy transition sector”, said global chief executive Peter Oosterveer.
“The supply of clean, green and reliable sources of energy are the issues of the hour across Europe, critical to our clients and communities alike and crucial to tackling the climate emergency. We’re delighted to welcome the Giftge Consult team to the Arcadis family and see great opportunities to strengthen and grow our energy transition solutions to clients not only in Germany but across our global operations.”
Manuel Biebermann, a Managing Director at Giftge Consult, added: “We bring expertise that Arcadis can roll out and cross-sell internationally with its global client base, such as pipeline engineering, high voltage-direct current and hydrogen transmission, environmental permitting and digital surveying services.”
Meanwhile, for Giftge Consult, the joining of forces with the global professional services firm (29,000 people in 70 countries) will enable the firm to “better serve our current customer base” and “secures our future viability under the umbrella of a strong, innovative and forward-thinking global company,” said Biebermann.
