International consulting firm Humatica has launched a new office in Munich, the firm’s second in the German-speaking DACH region and fourth worldwide.

According to Andros Payne, Managing Partner of Humatica, the private equity focused consultancy decided to setup shop in Southern Germany in response to growing demand for its services.

“We have ambitious international growth plans, and Munich was a logical next step. Our new office in the heart of Munich will allow us to serve more funds and portfolio companies in the region while strengthening our global offering.”

The launch comes at a time of major change for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. Following a record 2021 , when private equity deal value jumped to a staggering $1.1 trillion globally, the impacts of economic and geopolitical pressures have seen the industry hit more choppy waters.

This has led many investors to place more scrutiny on their investments, and re-jig and optimise their existing portfolio companies. This is where Humatica comes in – the firm specialises in the organisation and people side of value creation and performance improvement work.

“We help funds and portfolio companies build and improve their organisations. It’s an exciting time for Humatica to develop our presence in the German market,” said Andreas Knobloch, a longstanding Operating Partner and head of the new venture.

One of the original Humatica team members, Knobloch has more than 20 years of business leadership and advisory experience with private equity backed portfolio companies, Silicon Valley start-ups and corporates. He has advised hundreds of private equity clients and their subsidiaries on strategic transformation and organisational effectiveness.

“The new office will enable us to expand our business with existing German clients and develop new relationships in an attractive market,” Knobloch added, pointing at the fact that Germany is Europe’s second-largest private equity market behind the United Kingdom.

Across its offices in Zurich, London and Singapore, Humatica has a team of 40+ consultants and a network of vetted independent consultants.
