Ramboll Management Consulting, the consulting arm of engineering group Ramboll, has beefed up its business in Germany and Western Europe with the acquisitions of Acondas Consulting and Civity Management Consultants.

Announced this week, the acquisition of Acondas Consulting adds a team of 40 consultants to Ramboll Management Consulting.

Acondas Consulting focuses on the energy sector, working with corporates in the DACH region, including numerous DAX 40 companies, as well as SMEs in energy-intensive industries.

The firm is headquartered in Düsseldorf with additional locations in Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich.

“Getting Acondas Consulting onboard supercharges our integrated offerings internationally as well as in Germany within the Energy & Utilities sector. With our existing consulting services and strong teams in Ramboll, we can now address our client’s core transformational sustainability challenges from strategy to execution level,” said Markus Diederich, Global Managing Director of Ramboll Management Consulting.

Meanwhile, in August, Ramboll Management Consulting acquired Civity Management Consultants, a consultancy with around 50 staff specialising in the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Established in 2010, Civity Management Consultants works mostly for public sector clients within transport, infrastructure, and mobility, but also for major automotive companies – as well as for selected energy and water utilities companies and organisations. The firm advises on strategic, organisational, and commercial matters.

“Civity is such a well-established consultancy with a stellar reputation, top clients and a highly experienced team of specialists on the topics of transport, infrastructure and key sustainability challenges. We are looking forward to joining forces in our work to combine strategic management consulting with deep technical insights in the sectors most in need of sustainable change,” said Diederich.

Civity Management Consultants operates from offices in Hamburg and Berlin.

With the two deals, Ramboll Management Consulting now has over 750 staff across Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, and the United States. Parent Ramboll has roughly 17.500 staff around the world.
