New consultancy opens for business: Supply Chain Companions
There is a new consulting firm on the scene in Europe – offering professional services related to supply chains, as the name suggests. Operating out of Switzerland and the Netherlands, Supply Chain Companions will have a pan-Western Europe scope.
Supply chain disruptions have become a part of life for organizations big and small over the past several years. Beginning in 2020, Covid-19 caused chaos across the world and those issues were only compounded by even more worrying developments like the war in Ukraine and stubborn inflation.
Anticipating supply chain problems is a must for companies that hope to handle future obstacles smoothly. Supply Chain Companions looks to assist businesses in spotting challenges, streamlining processes, and adopting strategies for better flexibility, making sure they are ready for any potential ups and downs with their supply chains.
“We’re happy to announce the launch of our pioneering executive advisory firm specializing in strategic supply chain management,” said Martijn Lofvers, one of the seven co-founders (or ‘companions’). “Given the need for practical guidance on both developing and delivering on supply chain strategy, we’ve teamed up to bring our joint knowledge and expertise to clients.”
Some of the issues that the start-up consultancy looks to help clients address include measuring sustainability in supply chains, onshoring in the case of geopolitical havoc, tackling inflationary pressures in value chains, and how digital innovations like artificial intelligence and augmented reality can be incorporated into a building a stronger supply chain.
The companions
The firm is led by professionals with a variety of backgrounds in the landscape. Companions include former executives with decades of experience in supply chain operations, professors in supply chain management, and others involved in consulting and supply chain-related publications.
Together, the team brings a total of over 200 years of combined industry experience, according to the firm’s website.
“In today’s fast paced world, businesses need to navigate an ever-evolving landscape of supply chain challenges. Supply chain executives are experiencing near daily disruptions requiring greater resiliency and agility, while at the same time driving for efficiency and sustainability,” says Eric Baudier.
