Global consulting firm dss+ has expanded its capabilities in Europe with the acquisition of ETSCAF, a French consultancy with around 60 staff.

The bolt-on strengthens dss+’s core line of service, operational risk management and workplace safety, and comes within a year of a similar acquisition in the United States. With ETSCAF on board, dss+ now has more than 1.500 employees in 38 offices worldwide.

“Helping our clients save lives and create a sustainable future is our purpose. The integration of ETSCAF reinforces that purpose,” said Davide Vassallo, Chief Executive Officer of dss+, adding that the deal builds on the firm’s growth strategy.

ETSCAF was founded in 1992 as a spin-off from Esso. Ten years on, the company transitioned to Air Liquide. In 2009, ETSCAF became independent, and has since provided its services to multiple blue chip industrial clients in France and other countries around the world.

The French firm specialises in staff safety in high-risk sectors, focusing both on engineering solutions as well as the people-side of mitigation, including leadership development and workplace culture.

“By joining forces with ETSCAF, we reinforce our leadership position to deliver innovative, effective safety transformation programmes for industrial clients that cultivate the right capabilities, mindsets and behaviours to keep people safe,” said Cédric Parentelli, dss+ Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Headquartered in Switzerland, dss+ has a long heritage in workplace health and safety services. The firm, formerly a business unit of DuPont, has over the years received multiple awards for its leading status in the landscape.

Beyond health and safety, dss+ also supports clients with topics including operations, lean, sustainability, and digita.

“dss+ is a global leader in transforming workplaces to make them safer and more resilient,” said Gilles Rabergeau, President of ETSCAF. “We look forward to joining dss+, as together we can offer a unique, world-class leadership development and cultural transformation solution that engages all levels of an organisation, from executives to operators and remote workers.”
