Big Four firm KPMG appoints four new partners in Romania

Global accounting and consulting firm KPMG has appointed four new partners in its Romanian business.

Ioana Zenaida Popp has been appointed a partner in the Audit practice. She has been with the Big Four firm for 18 years, leading audit engagements in a range of sectors. “Throughout her career, Ioana has demonstrated exceptional skills in auditing and team coordination, always managing to customize services to effectively meet our clients’ needs,” said KPMG.

Andreea Niculae brings 23 years of experience in business consulting and the implementation of complex IT solutions to the partnership. Throughout her career, she has supported the digital transformations of clients from various industries, both nationally and regionally. Prior to joining KPMG early this year, she spent 17 years at Accenture.

Irina Rubeli has over 18 years of experience in auditing, gained at KPMG and during a short spell at Deloitte in Luxembourg. She focuses on audits at clients in the banking and investment fund sectors, working for local, regional, and global institutions. Based out of Bucharest, Rubeli is a member of KPMG’s internal coaching team, facilitating both technical and soft skills training for staff.

Mihaela Ionescu has over 20 years of experience, many of which she spent in CFO roles within major companies such as Microsoft and Metro. She joined KPMG in 2019, and in her current role as Head of Markets for Romania, she works closely with client leadership teams to win new business and develop innovative solutions.

In addition to the four new partners, KPMG simultaneously also appointed six new Associate Partners in Romania and Moldova (which is overseen by the Romanian business). These are: Anamaria Ciobanu, Corina Constantin, Andrada Iliescu, Alexandru Chirigiu, Alex Comanescu, and Ionut Mastacaneanu.
