The World Wildlife Fund has continued and expanded its partnership with Simon-Kucher, which spans pro bono services across a number of advisory topics and is part of the consulting firm’s corporate social responsibility agenda.

The relationship between the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Simon-Kucher goes back to 2020, when the two companies embarked on their first joint project. Since then, several initiatives have been deployed, focused mainly on the further development of corporate partnerships.

Corporates are an important part of the mission – and funding – of the World Wildlife Fund. Corporates that join forces with WWF pledge to working with the non-profit to finding solutions for challenges such as deforestation, over-fishing, water scarcity, and climate change. In particular, they work together on areas including communications & advocacy, business transformation, philanthropy, and the setup of projects worldwide.

Among the corporate partners advertised on the WWF’s website are Bolton Food, H&M, IKEA, and Orsted.

“Simon-Kucher's many years of experience have helped us significantly in expanding our corporate partnerships worldwide,” said Christian Som, Senior Manager Sustainable Markets at WWF Switzerland. “The collaboration enables us to win over companies for sustainable concepts and develop innovative solutions to global environmental and climate challenges.”

The collaboration

Experts from Simon-Kucher have been advising WWF on optimizing strategic and operational approaches to corporate partnerships. Additionally, the consultants are helping WWF to develop business cases for innovative environmental solutions driven by the organization.

A particular focus of the collaboration is on developing capabilities. Alongside advice, Simon-Kucher experts provide training and coaching to WWF teams worldwide, with a focus on strategy, pricing and negotiation skills – all key to building strong corporate partnerships that benefit both people and the planet.

Commenting on the new, two-year partnership, Anne Rupp, Global ESG Head at Simon-Kucher, said: “Our cooperation with WWF illustrates how our consulting expertise can be combined with a commitment to greater sustainability. With our expertise in strategy, pricing and commercial excellence, we support WWF in building strong partnerships with companies that drive sustainable solutions.”

The World Wildlife Fund is a non-governmental organisation founded in 1961 that works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment. It stated goals revolve around six areas: forests, oceans, freshwater, wildlife, food and climate & energy. The WWF is active in 100+ countries.
