UNICEF partners with Simon-Kucher to advance fundraising innovation for children
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has entered a global pro bono partnership with strategy consultancy firm Simon-Kucher to drive innovation in fundraising and enhance support for children.
Building on their long-standing collaboration through donations and project-based work, UNICEF and Simon-Kucher have now announced the formalisation of their collaboration through a global partnership agreement.
The agreement will see Simon-Kucher provide strategic consultancy support across a broad range of fundraising topics, from expanding UNICEF’s consumer-facing engagement efforts to informing donor behaviour insights and optimizing fundraising models. The consultancy firm will also support areas such as market research and private sector partnerships in support of humanitarian and development programs for children.
The joint initiatives will help UNICEF broaden its outreach and increase the impact of its global fundraising efforts for children.
The global growth strategy firm will provide its services on a pro bono basis, aligning with the firm’s corporate social responsibility agenda. The firm has similar partnerships with other NGOs, such as the World Wildlife Fund.
“We are proud to contribute to UNICEF’s vital mission through our pro bono collaboration,” said Anne Rupp, Global Head of ESG at Simon-Kucher. “UNICEF’s work to protect and empower the world’s most vulnerable children is a cause we are deeply passionate about. We look forward to supporting their efforts with our expertise in strategy, marketing, and commercial excellence.”
The scope of the agreement spans multiple markets – separate project streams will be set up to support regional and in-country improvement initiatives. Globally, Simon-Kucher has a network of 45+ offices in more than 30 countries.
A better world for children
Established in 1946, UNICEF is one of the most widely known and visible social welfare entities globally, operating in close to 200 countries. Its activities include providing immunizations and disease prevention, treating children and mothers with diseases, enhancing childhood and maternal nutrition, improving sanitation, promoting education, and providing emergency relief in response to disasters.
“Now is a critical time for us to unite with private sector partners and the wider public to collectively accelerate action to build a world fit for children,” said UNICEF Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships, Carla Haddad Mardini. “We value the continued support of Simon-Kucher whose strategic insights into effective and innovative fundraising will help us laser focus our investments to drive even greater impact for children worldwide.”
