Alvarez & Marsal launches Corporate Finance practice in German market

Global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has launched its Corporate Finance practice in the German market.
Led locally by the duo Alexander Bischoff (Managing Director) and Daniel Bentrup (Senior Director), the Corporate Finance practice will help board members, company founders, and investors with topics including corporate finance strategy, raising capital, acquisitions and divestments, and financial restructuring.
The new unit will work closely with Alvarez & Marsal’s other Corporate Finance practices in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, and the Netherlands, in particular for cross-border mandates.
“Establishing our presence in the German market is a major landmark for us,” said Jonathan Boyers, who leads the Corporate Finance business in the EMEA region.
“We continue to evolve our suite of services, and launching our Corporate Finance practice brings a significant, complementary capability,” added Patrick Siebert, Managing Director and Co-Head of Alvarez & Marsal in Germany. “Our team has a strong track record delivering value for clients in complex buy- and sell- side company situations.”
The practice leaders
Practice leader Bischoff has been hired externally from KPMG, where he spent 17 years and most recently led the Corporate Finance team in Germany. Prior to the Big Four firm, he worked at the investment banks Rothschild & Co. and Sal. Oppenheim.
“My role is to support entrepreneurs and investors in addressing strategic challenges and complex M&A situations,” said Bischoff. “I look forward to beginning a new chapter at Alvarez & Marsal and building a dynamic, hands-on team dedicated to unlocking our clients' potential.”
Bentrup meanwhile has more than 17 years of experience and spent the last five years as a Managing Director and Investment Partner at the Tengelmann Group in Munich. Prior to that, he worked for more than ten years as a corporate finance consultant at goetzpartners and PwC.
