DAAV, a Swiss provider of inclusive mobility solutions, has signed a strategic partnership with Arlande, a Dutch management consultancy.

Bern-based DAAV develops products and solutions that help people with reduced mobility and disabilities navigate airports. The firm’s flagship product is an autonomous wheelchair designed to move safely through terminals while ensuring the protection of both users and other travellers. The wheelchair has been successfully tested at several airports, and DAAV now aims to scale up its adoption.

Arlande is a management and consultancy firm with a leading track record in the airport sector. Its work extends into mobility – the firm was one of the architects behind Schiphol’s mission to roll out inclusive mobility solutions. Following a successful pilot, which Arlande co-designed and supported, Schiphol is now deploying autonomous wheelchairs on a wider scale.

Leveraging this expertise, Arlande has been approached by several airports seeking guidance on improving inclusive mobility. “We’re aiming to bring our consultancy services and experience with autonomous solutions to more airports worldwide,” said Jasper Wildenberg, Lead Aviation at Arlande.

After conducting extensive market evaluations of autonomous wheelchair technologies and assessing various solutions in the industry, we chose DAAV as the most advanced and scalable platform, aligning with our belief in DAAV’s vision to set the global standard for smart mobility.”

“DAAV brings a fresh perspective and technological innovation that aligns perfectly with the needs and challenges of airports and passengers with reduced mobility. Their solution represents the future of passenger autonomy and inclusivity,” he continued.

Bernard Steenaart, Director at Arlande, added: “We are proud to join forces with DAAV to help airports worldwide adopt this next-generation standard and create real impact. This partnership solidifies our commitment to improving accessibility and operational efficiency across airports, enabling passengers with reduced mobility to move independently, safely and comfortably.”

Mohsen Falahi, CEO of DAAV, said: “We are thrilled to join forces with Arlande. Their insight and experience in airport operations and mobility services complement our technology-driven approach perfectly. Together, we will accelerate the transformation of airport mobility.”
