EC selects Capgemini, Airbus Protect, PwC and Nviso to secure European institutions

The European Commission has selected a consortium comprising Capgemini, Airbus Protect, PwC, and Nviso as its partner for securing the cyber frontiers of 71 European institutions, bodies and agencies.

The consortium has been appointed to the MC17 FREIA Cyber Framework Contract, one of the European Commission’s most important framework contracts for digital protection. The contract is worth several million euros and runs for four years.

The four companies have been chosen for all three lots of the framework: incident management, governance and risk, and training and technical expertise. Together, these areas cover the entire cybersecurity value chain, from prevention to response and skills enhancement.

The goal of the consulting contract is to help the 71 European institutions improve their resilience, respond to evolving threats, and secure their digital transformation initiatives. Capgemini, Airbus Protect, PwC, and Nviso will also support the implementation of key regulations in the cyber space, such as NIS2 Directive, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the EU Cybersecurity Act, and the Cyber Resilience Act.

Commenting on the win, Marc Reinhardt, Global Public Sector Leader at Capgemini, said: “The awarding of all three lots to our consortium underscores the European Commission’s trust in our capability to deliver complex cybersecurity programs at scale. By combining our technical expertise with strategic foresight and operational agility, we will help European institutions address today’s threats and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.”
