The Ensur Company expands Dutch presence with acquisition of Colosseus Consult

The Ensur Company, a consulting group dedicated to the insurance and pension sectors, has expanded its presence in the Dutch market with the acquisition of Colosseus Consult.

Established in 2004, Colosseus Consult is a consultancy firm specialised in data-driven transformation in the pensions landscape. The firm has deep expertise in data migrations, data quality, actuarial services and process optimization.

The acquisition builds on a collaboration between the two companies, which was setup in 2021 just after Belgium-headquartered Ensur entered the Dutch market. During this period, the two firms worked together on joint delivery projects in the pension sector and in the area of data migrations. Now, the parties have taken that partnership to the next level – with Ensur acquiring 100% of Colosseus Consult’s shares for an undisclosed sum.

With the addition of Colosseus Consult (around 15 staff), The Ensur Company grows to 140 consultants across Belgium and the Netherlands and increases its annual revenue to approximate €30 million.

Rick Goossens, Country Lead for the Netherlands at Ensur, said the deal underscores the firm’s commitment to the Dutch market and strengthens its ability to support pension clients. The move comes amid significant change in the sector – as the Dutch government advances the most extensive pension reform in its history, despite the country having the world’s top-ranked pension system.

For The Ensur Company, the bolt-on marks its first acquisition since it joined forces with investor Down2Earth Capital with the aim to accelerate its growth – including through a buy-and-build campaign. Further acquisitions are planned in the coming years.
