EY-Parthenon’s Magda Warpas new Banking leader of EY in Poland

EY has appointed Magda Warpas, a partner in its strategy consulting and deals business, as the new leader of its Banking practice in Poland.

Installed in her new role at the start of this month, Magda Warpas has been with EY since 2008. She brings extensive experience in strategic and financial projects, transaction advisory, and business transformation across the financial services sector.

After spending her first twelve years at EY, she moved to EY-Parthenon in 2021, where she was promoted to partner a year later and appointed co-lead of its financial services offering.

Throughout her career, Warpas has worked on some of the largest and most complex M&A transactions in the Polish and European markets, frequently advising on deals involving entities operating across multiple European jurisdictions. She has advised financial institutions and investors, as well as leading private equity funds.

Additionally, Warpas has been involved in a number of IPOs in the financial services industry and has advised investors on each of the four forced bank restructuring transactions completed in Poland. These transactions refer to regulatory-led resolutions in which authorities intervened to stabilise or restructure distressed banks to ensure financial stability.

In Poland, EY has a team of around 4,000 people working across offices in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Lodz, Poznań, and Wroclaw. The business also operates a Shared Services Center that supports EY in Poland and other member firms across Europe.
