Stramigo aims to cut market research projects from days to hours with AI agents
Market research typically takes days or even weeks to go from a research question to a usable report. Dutch startup Stramigo aims to cut that time to hours with a new AI-powered approach using specialised AI agents.
The newcomer to the market research and market intelligence sector has already tested its model at car-sharing platform Greenwheels, where it says the end-to-end process – from research question to advisory report – was reduced from days to hours.
The Greenwheels study surveyed around 400 respondents and was completed within a single working day. Stramigo has not disclosed the exact research topic, but says the full process, from the initial research question to the completed advisory report, took six hours. The company attributes the accelerated turnaround to the AI solution it is launching this month.
The solution deploys specialised AI agents across the entire research process, covering intake, research design, questionnaire creation, data collection, analysis and reporting. The agents are built on established research methodologies and more than 1,600 previously conducted studies, with experienced researchers overseeing quality throughout the process.
Founded by Ruben Balfoort and based in Rotterdam, Stramigo targets research agencies, in-house marketing teams, and consulting firms for research questions in marketing and market intelligence.
Starting with the question, not the questionnaire
The process does not start with a questionnaire but with the research question itself. An AI chat asks follow-up questions until the goal, target audience, and required information for a useful answer are clear. Based on that, an initial setup and price follow immediately.
Multiple AI agents then work in parallel. One designs the study using standard methodologies, another searches the database of past studies for comparable cases to keep results benchmarkable, and a third incorporates the client’s own prior research and knowledge. A first draft is ready within half an hour, which the client can then adjust and refine.

Once approved, the study goes live via panel networks in more than 80 countries. The original research question travels through to the analysis and conclusions, so insights are immediately placed in context and compared against benchmark data where useful. Stramigo provides clients dynamic reports, including guidance through an an AI assistant for follow-up questions.
A changing market
According to Balfoort, the firm’s model does not only change how research is conducted but also the revenue model of a large part of the market. Complex, specialised projects remain a job for humans, while many marketing and strategy questions can now largely be automated.
“Market research remains indispensable. But if AI can take over large parts of the work, the traditional turnaround times and consultancy costs for many studies become increasingly hard to justify,” said Balfoort. “If the barrier to doing research gets lower, organisations will not research less, they will research more. The question is not whether AI will change market research. That change has already begun.”
