EBAS buys 20-strong Danish energy consulting business
Danish consulting firm EBAS has acquired the energy consulting business of Ørsted, adding a team of 20 consultants and staff to its 100-strong team.
EBAS is one of Denmark's larger suppliers of consulting, engineering and technical services to the private and public sector. The company is part of NRGi Group, an Aarhus-headquartered energy group with 1,400 employees.
“We're very pleased that we now have an additional 20 highly specialised colleagues from the very top shelf who're well-known in the industry for their professional skills, special know-how, and long-term customer relations,” said Hans Jørgen Lorenzen, chief executive officer of EBAS.
The move both deepens and broadens EBAS’ capabilities within consulting and energy optimisation of energy-intensive processes, production equipment and plants. The acquired team also brings an extensive track record in sustainability to the table, with a focus on clients in the industrial sector.
“[This deal] brings two strong organisations with deep competences together under the common name of EBAS. We're taking a significant step towards offering our customers an even wider range of competences and expertise for the benefit of their business and society,” said Lorenzen.
Morten Buchgreitz, Executive Vice President of Markets & Bioenergy at Ørsted, said that he is delighted that the company has found a good new home for the consulting division. “We’re very pleased to have found a buyer with a solid strategic ambition.”
The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2020.
