Arthur D. Little elects its 7-strong global board of directors
Arthur D. Little’s over 100 partners globally have elected their new 7-strong global board of directors, led by Ignacio García Alves for a fourth term.
Ignacio García Alves has been at the helm of the global strategy and management consulting firm since 2011 – the year when Arthur D. Little returned to a private partnership. In the year it celebrated its 125th anniversary – Arthur D. Little is broadly recognised as the world’s oldest consulting firm – the partner team completed a management buyout from Altran, which owned the firm for about nine years.
Under the reins of the award-winning CEO, Arthur D. Little has since booked strong growth, re-building its team to over 1,200 partners, consultants and staff globally. The past five years saw the firm accelerate, doubling in size through organic growth and geographic expansion into new markets with 15 new offices added to its footprint.
Looking ahead, Europe-headquartered Arthur D. Little has the ambition to “take the firm to a next level” said García Alves, despite the current Covid-19 pandemic. “We plan to accelerate development, with substantial investments in people, new leading-edge offerings and digital, plus an increased focus on our unique ‘open consulting’ approach.”
The latter pillar builds on the firm’s recent acquisitions of Presans and Cutter Consortium, which enables Arthur D. Little to power a hybrid consulting model to its clients, while reaping the benefits of a large flexible pool of talent – including expertise, on-demand delivery and cost effectiveness.
Leading the firm’s strategy for the coming three years is a new Board of Directors consisting of:
Ignacio García Alves
Ignacio García Alves has been with the consultancy his entire career, having joined in 1992. The global Chairman and Chief Executive Officer is based in Brussels and in Paris.

“We are now entering a new chapter, and have ambitious plans to invest in the future. But our commitment remains unchanged: we are here to help our clients, and the communities they serve, overcome today’s most pressing challenges and seize tomorrow’s most promising opportunities,” said García Alves.
