KPMG acquires Romanian management consulting firm Ensight
The Romanian team of KPMG has acquired Ensight Management Consulting, a Bucharest-based management consultancy with around 25 professionals.
The deal comes on the back of a long-standing partnership between the two firms, which kicked off in 2013. Since then, KPMG Advisory and Ensight have teamed up on a number of occasions, on projects including business transformation, finance optimisation, performance improvement and digital transformation.
“The integration of Ensight Management Consulting, one of the leading domestic providers of management consultancy services in Romania, into KPMG is a natural development of a successful partnership,” explained Ramona Jurubiță, KPMG’s boss in Romania.
According to the Country Managing Partner, the bolt-on will both deepen and broaden KPMG’s consulting offerings, in particular in the financial services, retail, energy, real-estate, healthcare and pharma sectors.
Meanwhile, for Ensight Management Consulting, the transaction closes a period of twenty years of independence, and sees Managing Partner Robert Maxim return to familiar ground. In 2000, Maxim left KPMG Advisory to establish Ensight. Closing off the circle, Maxim has now been appointed a partner and Head of KPMG’s Management Consulting practice.
He is joined in the move by three other Ensight partners – former Capgemini Invent seniors Roland Teufel and Harald Ditter, and Mihaela Danalache – and a team of circa 20 consultants and staff. They will be integrated into KPMG’s Bucharest operation, and work together with the firm’s other offices in Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Timisoara and Chisinau.
“We are pleased to join a prominent firm like KPMG,” said Maxim. “This integration will offer our clients extensive resources in management consulting, an innovative culture and transformational vision to support them on their path to success.”
Richard Perrin, KPMG’s Head of Advisory in Romania, said: “A warm welcome to the team of Ensight.”
The deal is KPMG’s fourth acquisition globally this year, following deals in Canada (Allard Matte and Wirefire), Australia (Action Sustainability) and India (Shivansh Solutions).
