Ian Curmi joined PwC in the UK in 2007, and following a two-year spell in the firm’s New York office, he relocated to Malta in 2012. He specialises in assurance services, with a focus on clients in the iGaming sector – Malta is one of Europe’s top hubs for gaming talent and solutions. Mainly for tax reasons, many well-known brands in the scene such as Sweden’s NetEnt and UK’s PlayFrank are headquartered in the island.

A fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Curmi also has gained experience with advisory and financial management engagements.

Commenting on the promotions, PwC’s Malta boss David Valenzia said: “I’m very proud of this milestone for Christopher and Ian. They will further boost our ability to help our clients address global challenges in an ever-changing business environment. They truly set our firm’s purpose in motion: to build trust in society and solve important problems.”

In Malta, an island of just 316 square kilometres, PwC realises revenues of around €42 million, generated by a team of approximately 680 accountants, auditors, consultants and staff from 30+ different nationalities.
