Amsterdam Data Collective expands into Denmark

Amsterdam Data Collective, a Dutch consultancy specialised in data science services, has expanded into Denmark.

Founded in 2017, Amsterdam Data Collective is an end-to-end provider of data science services, from strategy and the design of solutions to the technical build and implementation of these solutions. “Since our inception, we’ve helped over 50 organisations in the Netherlands become more data-driven,” explained Rik van der Woerdt, Managing Director of Amsterdam Data Collective.

The majority of its expertise is housed in three sectors – financial services, healthcare and public sector – with the likes of governments, large banks, healthcare institutions and hospitals among its roster of clients.

“We have over the past five years managed to firmly establish ourselves in the Dutch data science consultancy market. This has given us the confidence to expand our services internationally,” said Van der Woerdt, who previously worked for two boutique consultancies in the Netherlands and Australia prior to co-founding Amsterdam Data Collective.

Asked why the 50-strong firm picked Denmark as its first international location, the co-founder said: “With its progressive culture, tech-savvy and happy population, can-do attitude and innovative companies, Denmark is the ideal place for Amsterdam Data Collective to expand to. We are super excited about this new adventure.”

In a bid to hit the ground running in the Nordics, Amsterdam Data Collective has teamed up with Vaekst, a Copenhagen-based firm that specialises in B2B sales. “They will help us gather customer insights and accelerate our business development in the region,” said Van der Woerdt.

“Vaekst acts as a gateway to the entire Nordic region as we drive sales in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. We are very happy to partner with Amsterdam Data Collective in their expansion to the Nordics and felt instantly connected by the fact that we are both driven by people and powered by technology. Amsterdam Data Collective has what it takes to help organisations make more impact using data science,” said Vaekst co-founder Mik Lokdam.

For Amsterdam Data Collective, the announcement comes shortly after it onboarded Marcel van Wersch – the co-founder of mid-sized finance & risk consulting firm Solid Professionals (which has offices in the Netherlands and Germany) – to its leadership team. He has been tasked with helping the data science consultancy embark on its next phase of growth.
