Alberto Fumo leads Kearney’s Transactions & Transformations practice
Global management consulting firm Kearney has appointed Alberto Fumo as the European leader of its newly formed Transactions & Transformations practice.
For Alberto Fumo, an Italian who has been with the consultancy for nine years, the promotion is his second within a year. In March, Fumo was named the European leader of Kearney’s Private Equity and M&A practice.
That practice has now merged together with the Advanced Transformation Services practice to form the new Transactions & Transformations practice, in line with the firm’s aim to provide clients with a “multi-disciplinary team that can provide end-to-end support on strategic transformations”, said Bob Haas, the US-based Global Lead of the Transactions & Transformations practice.
“Across the world, organisations are seeking more sophisticated and integrated merger & acquisition, divestiture and transformation services. With the Transactions & Transformations practice, we are making new investments and expanding our capabilities and capacity to serve our clients on their most complex challenges,” said Haas.
The new wing will help corporates and private equity houses with strategising and delivering their deals, with post-deal value enhancement initiatives, and with broader transformations that touch the M&A agenda.
Geir Olsen, Head of Europe at Kearney, said: “Our Transactions & Transformations practice will enable us to service our clients with a broader scope and scale of capabilities to address transformative moves in a much more proactive, holistic and seamless way.”
Fumo brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, including successfully advising on more than 300 acquisitions, mergers and divestitures over the course of his career. Prior to joining Kearney in 2012, he spent eight years at rivals L.E.K. Consulting and Bain & Company.
Commenting on the appointment, Fumo said it is an “honour” to take on the expanded remit, adding that the firm can now “provide a more unified approach” to shaping transformation journeys.
Other leaders associated with Kearney’s European Transactions & Transformations practice include Rhiannon Thomas, Strategic Transformations Lead; Angus Hodgson, Merger Integration & Divestiture Lead; Nils Kuhlwein, Restructuring Lead; and Ira Gaberman, Leadership, Change and Organization Lead.
The news comes within a week of Kearney’s acquisition of Nordic procurement consulting firm Prokura, only its third deal in the past decade.
