Eraneos buys Swiss banking consultancy firm abaQon
For the second time this year, Eraneos has turned to M&A to boosts its growth in Switzerland. The addition of abaQon adds around 30 consultants to its Swiss base.
Founded in 2025, abaQon is a boutique consulting firm specialised in the financial services sector. The firm supports its clients with projects in the areas of core banking modernisation, data analytics, process mining, compliance, IT architecture, the implementation of new systems, and generative AI adoption.
“abaQon perfectly complements both our Financial Services team and our service portfolio,” says Adrian Anderegg, partner at Eraneos. “Their solid technology expertise gives our existing services a targeted boost. We’ll be pooling our skills to help clients in the financial sector navigate transformations by providing them with just the right blend of business acumen and technological expertise.”
The move builds on several previous financial services focused acquisitions, including sevenQ in Switzerland and DCP and W21 in Germany.
“With this latest addition, we are intensifying our portfolio of banking services and honing our profile as a comprehensive transformation partner for companies in the financial services sector,” noted Anderegg.
Switzerland is one of the largest markets for Eraneos, having been founded in the country following a three-way merger in 2021. Since then, the consulting firm has grown its headcount from around 800 staff to 1,200 today. They work from offices in 10 countries: Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, the UK, Singapore, and the US.
A next step
Meanwhile, for Zug-based abaQon, joining forces with Eraneos marks the next step in its evolution, said co-founders and managing partners Manuel Dubler and Philippe Vanin.
