Capgemini boosts nuclear capabilities with acquisition of SEIMAF

Capgemini has acquired SEIMAF, an industrial engineering and technical consulting group with offices in France, the UK and Romania.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in France, SEIMAF has a team of around 100 engineers, technicians and consultants in Paris, London, and Bucharest. The company serves the nuclear, energy, and industrial sectors, providing solutions that improve overall production and help achieve operational excellence.

“As we have a number of industrial clients in common, this acquisition is a natural fit for Capgemini and reinforces the group’s status as a trusted strategic partner to global industrial organizations,” siad Angélique Lallouet, Executive Director of Capgemini Engineering in France.

“SEIMAF’s specialist expertise will strengthen our engineering and design teams enabling clients to leverage and thrive in the energy transition, as we enter an area of industrial growth powered by efficient and sustainable energy.”

The deal will in particular boost Capgemini’s nuclear offerings, at a time when nuclear energy is set to enter a new era in many European countries. Approximately three quarters of the SEIMAF team specialize in nuclear services.

“The SEIMAF team will bolster Capgemini’s status as a key strategic partner to clients in the nuclear domain, especially in France and the United Kingdom,” said Lallouet.

Meanwhile, for SEIMAF, the joining of forces with the global technology group (and its consulting subsidiary Capgemini Invent) will enable it to expand its services and impact. “The breadth and depth of Capgemini’s global capabilities will allow our teams to bring their deep expertise to some of the most cutting-edge industrial projects. We are excited to get started,” said Gilles Glad, CEO of SEIMAF.

For Capgemini, the deal comes months after it bought Indian business process services company WNS for $3.3 billion. Its consulting business meanwhile this year closed a deal in the Netherlands.
